Rubin's new toy - "BLACKIE"

Rubin's new toy is an ex Japan E30 m3 tarmac rally car, imported by guys in Queensland. Rubin and Brett flew over and drove it back to Perth (4600kms) via Rubin's brother in Melbourne - to watch "Bathurst V8 Supercars", and to drive the "Great Ocean Road" again. This time in a BMW and in tarmac sprint mode!

This car comes with adjustable coil-over suspension, SuperSprint exhaust system, GROUP "A" Recaro racing seat (as used in M3's in their day), alloy 8 point roll cage, strut bars and a KAAZ LSD!! The first thing removed was the hideous Nardi Drift steering wheel, swapped for a MOMO RACE gold flat wheel, next the wheels were replaced with the BBS LM 17x8.

Rubin in time will put in all the GROUP A bits he has collected, including the alloy fuel cell. For now its off to the panel shop to have repairs done to the firewall and gussets from the E30 convertable put on the M3. The sunroof metal cassette has been removed and a carbon fibre replacement is on its way. With the heater box and air cond removed this will be a very light M3 indeed!

This project has been placed on the longterm list as "EVO bunkie" takes over to provide an immediate motorsport fix (see current projects).
