A diff ratio change is one of the easiest ways
to increase performance.
A 10% change in diff ratio e.g. from a 3.15 to a 3.45 will give a noticable increase in acceleration at the cost of a 10% increase in revs at cruising speed. Top speed usually remains unaffected as few vehicles reach maximum revs in top gear. Limited Slip Differentials dramatically reduce the wheelspin of the inside wheel under hard cornering.
